Japanese Hojicha is made by using a 3rd flush Bancha style leaf, Sanbancha. Freshly plucked green leaves are steamed, dried and slowly roasted over a low heat to ensure the leaves retain their sweet taste. When infused, Hojicha is full bodied with hints of toasted cinnamon. The process of slow roasting the tea leaves removes much of the caffeine content so as a result, Hojicha roasted tea leaves have low levels of caffeine.
Hojicha Japanese Roasted Green Tea is available as both loose leaf tea or leaf tea in bio-degradable, plastic free, pyramid tea bags.
